Triston S. Glynos, PT, MSPT, OCS
Owner/Director/Physical Therapist
Triston graduated from the accelerated physical therapy program at Boston University's Sargent College with a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies in 1999 and Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 2001. After graduation, he obtained his physical therapy licensure in New Jersey and began working as an outpatient physical therapist.
During his career, Triston focused primarily on outpatient orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation, yet broadened his expertise by working in the acute and home-care settings. He founded Joint Motion, LLC, in 2006 and opened his doors to the public in February 2007. In 2008, Triston earned his board certification as a Specialist in Orthopedics from the state of NJ and the American Physical Therapy Association.
With less than 2% of the state's physical therapists obtaining this certification, Triston joins an elite group of clinicians distinguished by their exceptional knowledge and experience treating patients with orthopedic conditions. Obtaining this additional certification demonstrates Triston's commitment to helping his patients best resolve their physical limitations using the most current medical information and techniques available.
In his spacious Scotch Plains practice, Triston uses advanced manual therapeutic techniques, a scientifically-based therapeutic exercise approach, and his caring personality to provide treatments for most musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. He is a long-time member of the American Physical Therapy Association and also contributes to the local community by providing informative lectures on numerous topics, such as Fall Prevention, Sports Injury Prevention, Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis treatment, and Low Back Pain.
Triston is native to the area being born in North Plainfield, and raised in Berkeley Heights. He lives locally with his wife, Tara, and their two sons.
Marc Helders, PT, MPT
Marc Helders, PT, MPT joined the Joint Motion PT staff in May of 2010. Marc is an expertly-trained, licensed physical therapist who treats patients with musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. Marc is unique in that he has ten years of experience treating both adults and pediatric patients. Marc graduated from Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in 2001 with his Master of Physical Therapy degree. He is also a trained clinic instructor of Physical Therapy since 2003 which allows him to impart his wisdom to students in accredited physical therapy programs. Marc has also worked tirelessly on improving his skills to better serve his patients by attending numerous continuing education classes, including those for the McKenzie Method for treating spinal condition, for Maitland manual therapy techniques to improve his hands-on manual therapy skills, and for the "Functional GolfLinks" program designed to improve golfer's strength, conditioning and injury prevention.
Bernice Cuscuna, PT, MS.
Staff Physical Therapist
Bernice (Bunnie) Cuscuna is a graduate of the College of Staten Island, where she earned her Master's degree in Physical Therapy in 1999. She received awards for highest academic Honors and the Biology Department Faculty Award.
Prior to joining the staff at Joint Motion PT, she practiced as a clinician in Middlesex County, Mercer county, New Jersey as well as Staten Island, NY where she practiced acute care rehabilitation, home care and outpatient orthopedics. She also provided instruction on back care for hospital employees and pre surgical instruction for hip and knee patients.
Bunnie emphasizes manual therapy skills utilizing Mulligan techniques, joint mobilization, therapeutic exercise, muscle stretching, PNF, muscle energy techniques and soft tissue techniques. Her experience includes working closely with pre and post surgical high school athletes, patients with sacroiliac dysfunction, pregnancy related low back pain, vestibular disorders and pre and post operative shoulder, hip, back and knee disorders.
Through continuing education she has completed coursework in the Mulligan technique for mobilization, balance and fall prevention, Vestibular training, Pilates, hip, knee and shoulder rehabilitation and golf fitness.
Bunnie has been asked to speak to numerous community groups, organizations and schools and continues to volunteer her time to offer professional counsel.
When not providing patient care, Bunnie has been a part time adjunct lecturer of Physical Therapy at the College of Staten Island since 2002.
